General Questions

Q: What is the Iowa Lottery's VIP Club?

A: The VIP Club is open to anyone who plays Iowa Lottery games. The club offers exclusive perks for those who join. As a VIP Club member, you get a free monthly coupon, access to exclusive prize drawings, a monthly newsletter, and special offers and insider news available only to those who have joined the club.

Q: How do I join the VIP Club?

A: You can become a VIP Club member by using our New Registration link. You'll be required to provide general information about yourself, including your email address. After you submit your information, you'll be directed to set up a password for your account. You will use your email address as your login name and the password you created each time you log in to your VIP Club account. You will need to log in to see the VIP Club pages.

Q: How often will there be prize drawings through the VIP Club?

A: We anticipate we'll have drawings through the VIP club at least once a quarter. We'll be sure to give you plenty of notice when there's a drawing coming up so you'll have time to enter!

Log-In, Account Issues

Q: Will I need to create a new account?

A: If you have not joined or registered your account since July 1, 2013, you will need to create a new account. Just click on the New Registration link and follow the instructions. It's a simple process!

Q: I have forgotten/want to reset my password. What can I do?

A: On the Manage Profile page, there is a link you can use for assistance with resetting log-in information.

Q: My email address has changed. What should I do?

A: To update your email address follow these easy instructions.

Q: How do I change my personal account information?

A: To change your personal account information, log in with your email address and password, then go to the Manage Profile page and make your desired profile changes. It's important to keep your information current, as we use it to contact you if you're selected as a winner in a promotion.

Q: Who do I contact if I have a question or comment?

A: One of the easiest ways to contact us is by email at or You also can call us at the Lottery's headquarters in Clive at 515-725-7900.

Q: I notice that I can store login name and password in my computer. Does this site use cookies?

A: Yes, if you wish to store your login name and password and not have to re-enter that information, you can store the information as a cookie. Cookies are harmless text files that the VIP Club site uses to store this information. There is nothing harmful that can hurt your computer. However, if you are using a public computer at a library, etc., do not store this information there.

Q: Why must I supply my email address on the Member Profile page?

A: We need your email address to send you alerts and to provide you with your password if you forget it. We also use your email address to notify you if you win in a drawing.

Q: Why can't my family share the same email address?

A: We use your email address as your login name and to identify the specific winners in our drawings. Each login name must be unique, so each email address can only be used once.

Q: What if I don't want to receive email from you?

A: When you join the VIP Club, you indicate whether or not you want to receive email notifications from the lottery. If you selected "yes," but want to change that to "no," you must log in to your account, then click on the Manage Profile link and change this to "no." If you have indicated you do not want to receive email notifications, we will not email you unless you need to be specifically reached, as in the instance of winning a prize. Please be aware, however, that if you choose not to receive email from us, you will not receive your monthly free coupon, as those are delivered via email.

Q: Why must JavaScript be enabled on my computer?

A: This site uses JavaScript to ensure that form information is correctly completed. If JavaScript is not enabled, please check your Internet browser, anti-virus or firewall documentation.

Ticket Entry & Drawings

Q: What tickets are eligible for promotions?

A: A list of active promotions and information about eligible games can be found under Promotions on the VIP Club site and the Iowa Lottery website at

Q: Why aren't all nonwinning tickets eligible in the VIP Club?

A: There are certain eligible games for our different promotions. Not all nonwinning tickets are eligible for our Play It Again® promotions.

Q: How do the drawing entries work?

A: You can enter lotto tickets OR nonwinning scratch tickets from any eligible game(s) within the specified entry period for each promotion. We will select winners from among only those eligible entries that were submitted during the posted entry period.

Q: How are winners contacted?

A: The Iowa Lottery will use the contact information you supplied when you registered for your VIP Club account to contact you if you win a prize. Winners lists will also be posted on the lottery website.
